What Do You Fear?  - Advent 2024

This Advent, we’re stepping into the story the way our ancestors lived it… honestly.

Not the glittered version, not the softened version, but the real one:

the one shaped by fear, trembling under empire, aching for good news.

Because we know something about that world.

Throughout our Advent worship series, What Do You Fear?, we’ll name the shadows we’re living in…

political fear, personal fear, global fear, fear for our children and our future…

and we’ll listen for the quiet, steady hope that rises even there.

Advent begins in the shadows. And shadows are exactly where light does its best work.

Advent Bible Study - Visio Divina

Wednesdays

6:30pm ET Online Only (Zoom)

Visio Divina, latin for “divine seeing,” is a method of  meditation, reflection, and prayer through a process of intentional seeing. Visio Divina extends the 6th century Benedictine practice of Lectio Divina by the use of visual

imagery.

Traditionally, Visio Divina was accompanied by Benedictine iconography and illuminations, however, different faith traditions have adapted the process over time, utilizing both secular and nonsecular images.
